Elementary and Higher Education Students Competition Rules
- All elementary & secondary students as representative of their respective schools.
- Open to all handicapped persons who are interested to participate and whom are presently a member in any societies in Bahrain, regardless of nationality.
- Each participating school and/or society is entitled to submit up to two contestants in each category. Each contestant will be judged individually.
- All contestants must be endorsed by their respective schools and societies. The school and societies must submit the Entry Forms with the names of the contestants attesting to their authentication as a bona fide students.
Rules for handicapped participants
- Open to all handicapped persons of all nationalities who are presently a member in a society in Bahrain.
- Each participating society is entitled to submit up to two contestants whose work will be individually judged.
- Entry forms must confirm the membership of the participant.
- All art material will be provided by the organisers at no charge.
- Acrylic paints will be exclusively used in the competition.

Professional Artists Category
- The minimum age for participating in this category is 17 years old.
- Participation is open to all Bahrain residents.
- Participants in this category may submit one of their own pre-created artwork to the competition. The submission’s dimensions should be 3×4 or 4×4 feet excluding the frame.
- Pre-created submissions must be received on 3 March 2008 between 10am and 3pm at the Marina Club.
- All works must have provisions for hanging.
- Only original art created by the participant will be accepted. No group or collaborative work will be considered.
- Please include a 5” x 7” coloured photograph of the artwork with the submission including required identity details as required below in the General Conditions.
- All participants must complete provided Entry Forms. Participation in the Competition specifically signify the complete acceptance of the Competition’s Terms and Conditions.
- Artworks may be any pigment on ground, e.g. oil / acrylic on canvas, collage, found objects, and other mixed media. Tarpaulin or digital prints are not allowed.
- The organising committee reserves the right to refuse any submitted entry.
“Walk-In” Artists Category
- Any individual whether a professional, amateur or hobbyist are most welcome to participate. Artist may submit one of their own pre-created artwork (3×4 or 4×4 feet excluding frame) or even paint on-the-spot during the event. Art materials will be available and provided by the organizers at no charge, however, they can bring their own sets.
- Only original art created by the participant like oil / acrylic on canvas, collage, found objects, and other mixed media will be accepted. Tarpaulin or digital prints are not allowed and no group or collaborative work will be considered.
- All participants must complete and sign the provided Entry Forms and submit artworks details like artist’s name, society, contact details, entry title and size. Participation signifies the complete acceptance of the Terms and Conditions.
Participating artist will receive a special participation certificate from the Rotary Club of Adliya as an acknowledgement of their contribution of this noble event.
General Conditions
- Registration will commence at 8am in the Marina Club.
- No registration will be accepted once the competition starts.
- Painting will take place in the Marina Club between 10am through to 3pm.
- Contestants must base their creations on the theme of the contest which will be announced by the contest Chairman at the start of the competition. The theme will fall within the environmental awareness sphere.
- Both figurative and abstract paintings are welcome.
- All entries must be signed. A form will be attached to the back of the entry bearing the artist’s name, society, contact details, entry title and size.
- Entries will be judged by a panel of judges selected by The Rotary Club of Bahrain and Ispektrum. The decisions of the judges are final.
- Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on 21 March 2008 at the Marina Club
- All entries shall expressly become the property of the Rotary Club of Adliya.
- The organising committee members are not allowed to participate in the competition.
